Acidity

Within the context of acidity, there are several definitions we will explore.

Most commonly we hear about acidity in terms of our diet. If we are choosing many foods found within the Standard American Diet which includes loads of processed foods, sodas, high sugar and high-fat foods depleted of any nutritional value the reality is that they tend to inflame our bodies because of the acidic load they carry. The more of these types of foods and beverages we consume, the higher the acidic load and also the higher the inflammatory markers tend to be circulating.

But we can also talk about acidity in terms of reactivity. Being acidic can be equated with being reactive. We can be reactive in how we experience our self-talk. How we interact with others. How we show up in our job or in relationships. The concept of where we are housing and experiencing reactivity can be an alarm for where we are acidic.
